Overnight Oats: Vanilla and Honey

I am currently trying to eat healthier in the bid to lose a bit of weight. One of my friends recently suggested trying over night oats. Not really knowing what I could do with them I turned to my best friend Pinterest. There are so many great ideas on there that I have decided to share a new flavour with you every week!

Vanilla and Honey

As the title of this blog suggested this weeks flavour is a simple vanilla and honey.

What you will need:

  • mason jar
  • rolled oats (I used Quaker oats)
  • milk of your choice (I used soya milk)
  • Vanilla yoghurt of your choice (I used Alpro Soya plant based yoghurt)
  • vanilla extract
  • clear runny honey
Now I didn't actually use specific measurements I just did it by eye, but what you need to remember is that the mixture will thicken over night as the oats absorb the milk.
Once you have filled your jar with all the ingredients make sure the lid is done up tight and shake it! Then all you have to do is leave it in the fridge over night. It is as simple as that!

How amazing does it look! I can't wait to try as many different flavours as possible! Comment your favourite combination and I will be sure to make it!

DIY IT!!!| DIY Christmas Gifts

Snow is fallin'
All around me
Children playin'
Having fun
It's the season
Love and understanding
Merry Christmas everyone

I know right, can you believe Christmas is literally round the corner. This year I have been super unorganised and have literally bought nothing. So this year I have set myself a little challenge. I am going to try and make some gifts.

So the first DIY I have done are the famous 'Sharpie Mug'. Now I couldn't find any of the sharpie paint markers so i used posca pens instead. So I have made these for my two house mates and my mum and sister. Everyone loves mugs and they can be used for so much more than just drinking a good cuppa tea!!!
So first of all you will need a selection of cheap plain mugs, nail varnish remover, paint pens and stickers.
I'm not all that creative so i went with the monogram letter dot design. What I did was print out some letters in a variety of bold fonts onto some sticker paper. once I stuck the letters to the mugs and chose the colours i wanted the dots to be. I chose silver and gold as I thought it was very christmassy!!!
once you are happy with your design peel the sticker off and leave to dry fully over night. In order to be able to use the mug without damaging your design you will need to pop in the oven at 220 for around 45 mins. Make sure you let the mugs warm up and cool down completely with the oven to prevent cracking.
Your mugs are now done!!! Make sure to only hand wash them so they last longer!!!!

And hey presto you have the perfect gift for quite simply anyone!!!! I hope you have enjoyed this little DIY and if you give it a go please share what you make using #lovehayleybeth

DIY IT!!! Weekly Planner Board

Heeeellloooo!!!!
So first off I apologise for not publishing this sooner I've just been super busy of late. But here it is!!! Now this is going to be a new series that I will try to do weekly; at the moment it is called DIY IT!!! But I am looking for a better name so please comment your suggestions!!!

So what you will need:

  • Poster board in your desired colour
  • Card suitable for printing on
  • Hot glue gun
  • Craft knife
  • Metal organiser pots (I'm not really sure what they are called!!!)
  • Sticky back plastic
I used an A2 sized poster board but you can use any size depending on where you want to put your planner. I found my planner template on pinterest but obviously it you are more creative than me you can make your own. once you have your weekly planner print it on to your card and cover it is sticky back plastic. If you have a laminating machine that will also work.
I then found some cool quotes to also print on to card and obviously I had to include a Harry Potter quote!!!!
Attach the planner and quotes to the poster board using double sided tape.
I then found some pen pots to stick to the poster board using a glue gun. In one pot I have put my whiteboard pens and in the other I have put my pills and multivitamins.
I wanted to hang my board up to I just attached a piece of twine to the back of the board with the hot glue gun!!!
And hey presto you have yourself a weekly planner board.
Please if you make one please share your pictures on instagram using #lovehayleybeth and I will be liking and sharing my favourites!!!!

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed it and I will speak to you again soon!!!!
