Let's GoCustomized

As you already know my very talented friend created me my fabulous logo recently so when a company called Go Customized approached me to create my own personalised phone case there was only one design I was going to choose!

Go Customized is a Dutch company based in Amsterdam. They create customised phone cases, Bluetooth speakers, notebooks, power banks, USB cards and earbud cases all of which you can personalise with your photos and designs!

The design process is really easy, all you have to do is choose the colour of the item you would like, upload your image and position it where you would like to on the item and that's it! You pay for it and choose your shipping option!

I think my favourite part of the process is when Go Customized sends you this video showing you how they create your new phone case.
https://vimeo.com/221561745
I couldn't figure out how to add it to the post properly, I apologise.

The delivery was also super quick, taking only two business days!

I chose to order a white hard case for my iPhone 6, this would have cost me £13.99 And here it is! I am so in love with it!

Create your own here and I would love to see them when they arrive! Let me know in the comments what you think!

Although this product was sent to me for free in return for the promotion of their business all opinions are mine and I would only consider writing about products I genuinely like and would use.

Fragrance Friday: Ralph Lauren Love

This is a series I have been very excited to write! This is because I   get to write about one of my favourite things; perfume!

In 2014 I had the opportunity to work at the Fragrance Shop, although it was only a short stint thus far it has been my favourite job. And this is where my fragrance journey began (or should I say obsession!).

Ralph Lauren Love was bought for me for my 20th birthday last year. It is a floral and slightly fruity fragrance, fantastic for these summer months. To explain the notes further I have created this great graphic!

To me, the design of the bottle is just as important as the fragrance itself. Ralph Lauren Love is a simple bottle in Ralph Lauren's classic shallow but wide shape. The bottle is a beautiful hot pink with a contrasting blue lid.

You can buy Ralph Lauren Love at The Fragrance Shop

The Story Behind The Business: A Thousand Yellow Daisies

You may recognise this businesses name from my recent post about a facebook market night, the market night was a big success and in this post, I am going to introduce you to Sam the fantastic woman behind A Thousand Yellow Daisies!

ATYD create mugs, stationery and gifts with brilliant floral prints. Sam Started the business with a backlog of patterns and graphics that she had designed simply for fun. She spent 5 years learning and developing skills that would support her design abilities. during the start of ATYD she found that patterns inspired by nature were the most popular and in her opinion her best work. Currently, her main inspiration comes from working with others. She currently collaborates with Chick With Chainsaw, creating beautifully personalised coasters.

Ideally, Sam wants to be able to secure a business that she can simply live off of.

"All I want from A Thousand Yellow Daisies is to be able to make a small living that allows me to turn my passion into a career and spend everyday doing what I love. In doing this I also hope to be able to establish strong connections with fellow small businesses and makers to support each other and work collaboratively".

So what is Sam most proud of about the business? Quite simply that ATYD still exists! It has been a tough first year for Sam and has hit many walls along the way.
"There was time after time where I wondered if i'd made the right decision. When juggling the business alongside part time jobs, sometimes working overtime it was exhausting. Attending market stalls that just weren't right for me almost every weekend for 3 months in the run up to Christmas, getting up at 6am and home by 6pm making hardly any sales I wondered why I was even still trying".
But despite all of that she continued, she just completed a free lance project rebranding a cocktail bar and two more freelance opportunities in the pipe line. There is even the possibility of working on a wedding. Because of all of this she is inspired to work even harder, it would have been easy to give up at any point but she is glad she didn't as she would never have had some of the opportunities she has had other wise.

The future is looking very bright for Sam and AYTD with several big projects being planned for the autumn of this year and spring of next year! This was all she could tell me so I am very excited to hear more about them in the future!

Currently, you can find AYTD on Facebook and Instagram. You can also buy all of AYTD's fabulous designs on Etsy, Chic Shed Designs - Ryton, Tyne and Wear; House of Vestress - Hayle, Cornwall and Sapphire Gifts in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.

Now I have some very exciting news! I am officially an ambassador for ATYD! This means Every month I will be introducing you to one of Sam's fantastic items (expect pretty Instagram posts!) and it also means you get a 15% discount on pretty much all of her items! Blog Goals For August

Like me you have probably read loads of August goals posts but here's another to add to your list! I was inspired so I sat down and had a think about what I really wanted to achieve this month and here it is!

Getting a New Website!

That's right! As great as blogger is, me and my blog have out grown it. This also another opportunity to work with the awesome Cameron Stroud. So what do I have to do to achieve this?
  • Buy a domain
  • Find a host
  • Create perfection
  • Put together a big giveaway for the launch!!!

Get to 500 Followers on Instagram!

I currently have 340 followers so it isn't the biggest challenge but in order to get there, I have to put the work in.
  • Find a theme- everyone bangs on about having a theme but my blog is quite eclectic so I'm not sure how to achieve that
  • Use the same background in all of my pictures- I currently have a load of vintage furniture in my house and it makes for a great background for my blog photos.

My Facebook Needs Help!

My Facebook seems to be the least interacted social media that I have. It currently only has only 57 likes, most of which are friends and family. This month I would love to surpass 150 likes. It doesn't sound like much but it is the first step. In order to get people to discover my Facebook, I am going to hold a back to school giveaway where in order to enter you must like my page and share the post. Hopefully, that will bring more people to my page and subsequently my blog!

I can't wait to see how I smash these goals! What are your goals for August? Comment them below and we will achieve them together!

BirchBox August

The world has moved on from unicorns (much to my dismay) and everyone wants to be a full-time mermaid!
This month BirchBox have tried to make that a reality with this absolutely gorgeous box. I have had BirchBox a year now and quite simply this is my favourite box of theirs!
So let's get down to the contents. When I opened the box all I could think was this looks a bit empty...

So What Did I Get?

  • Spectrum Collections A05 brush in Bomb Shell
  • LOC One and Done Shadow stick in Rock Steady
  • Number 4 Sugar Texturising Spray
  • Merci Handy in Hello Sunshine
  • Huygens Supernature Cream

The one thing I am glad about receiving is the texturizing spray. I find it so hard to find a good texturizing spray at an affordable price (rrp £20).
I have also been looking for a new shadow stick. So when I saw this copper beauty I was over the moon! I find using Shadow Sticks far easier than traditional shadow pallets as they offer more precision and are just so easy to use.
I know my house mat will love the face cream as she quite simply loves all French made products.
Finally can we please appreciate how gorgeous this brush is? The bristles are so soft and although this is the mermaid box this brush is my own little bit of unicorn!

What did you get in your BirchBox this month? Let me know in the comments!

If you would like to get BirchBox for the first time click here (you also get £5 off!!) and you can get your own gorgeous box and Spectrum Collects Brush!

It's all Starting to Feel Real Now!

Before now it felt like my blog was just a bit of fun, a bit of a hobby in fact. But things are about to change!
Over the last month, I have been trying to lay down the foundations of this blog becoming something! The first step in doing so was to get me a logo. I originally wanted something that 'represented me' it was full of unicorns and bright pink. Yes if you looked at it, you would say 'oh that must be Hayley's' but it wasn't quite right. After several doodles (including a random ice cream sundae!) I finally found the one!

Now I have no designing skills what so ever so I enlisted the expertise of graphic designer supreme Cameron Stroud to help. Now I have to say Cameron must be a saint if he was able to deal with me! I'm not very good at making decisions and would often give him several options for him to choose from but ultimately he did an amazing job!

So here it is!

You may have also noticed the lovely cover picture at the top of this blog! This was also designed and created by Cameron!

Don't they look fantastic! So if you are looking for a fantastic logo designed by a lovely guy look no further! Cameron is able to cater for almost anything and as I said before he has the patience of a saint. Here is just some of what he can do:

Price List:

Logo Design: from £60
Cover Picture Design: from £30
Posters: from £50
Website Design: from £500
Business Card Design: from £25
All prices include VAT. All prices correct at time of publishing.

Please send all enquiries to camwolf16@gmail.com If you could let him know that you found his details on my blog that would be brilliant, I don't get any commission from it but it is just useful for him!

August is going to be a lot of fun for my blog with some very big changes coming soon! I can't wait!!!

But until then
Love Hayley Beth XXX

Overnight Oats: Vanilla and Honey

I am currently trying to eat healthier in the bid to lose a bit of weight. One of my friends recently suggested trying over night oats. Not really knowing what I could do with them I turned to my best friend Pinterest. There are so many great ideas on there that I have decided to share a new flavour with you every week!

Vanilla and Honey

As the title of this blog suggested this weeks flavour is a simple vanilla and honey.

What you will need:

  • mason jar
  • rolled oats (I used Quaker oats)
  • milk of your choice (I used soya milk)
  • Vanilla yoghurt of your choice (I used Alpro Soya plant based yoghurt)
  • vanilla extract
  • clear runny honey
Now I didn't actually use specific measurements I just did it by eye, but what you need to remember is that the mixture will thicken over night as the oats absorb the milk.
Once you have filled your jar with all the ingredients make sure the lid is done up tight and shake it! Then all you have to do is leave it in the fridge over night. It is as simple as that!

How amazing does it look! I can't wait to try as many different flavours as possible! Comment your favourite combination and I will be sure to make it!

If you fancy giving this recipe a go make sure to tag me on my social media accounts below.

The Story Behind The Business: Happy Daisy

Now this story behind the business post is a little different to the others I have previously done. Instead of handmade goods, this business makes food! Introducing Happy Daisy.

Happy Daisy is a local vegan food producer based here in Gloucester! The people behind Happy Daisy are vegan and here is why:
"The main reason for the vegan lifestyle is ethics.  We don't feel the short term pleasure that we get from eating certain foods is worth the value of another's life.  60 billion animals are killed every year for the sole purpose of feeding people (Its so hard to imagine a number that big, but if you killed one animal every minute, it would take you just under 150,000 years to kill 60 billion)!

Aside from the direct harm we do to the individual animals, many more are killed as a result of animal agriculture.  Up to 91% of Amazon rainforest deforestation is caused by animal agriculture, causing the extinction of over 100 plant, insect and animal species every day.
There are more greenhouse gases released from animal agriculture every year than all the worlds transport put together (18% to 13% respectively).
Finally, in order to feed those 60 billion animals every year, we need a massive amount of food.  This could easily be redirected to the 800,000,000 people current starving in the world."
Happy Daisy's aim is to provide both vegans and non-vegans a great alternative to food that contains animal products. They also want to abolish the assumption that vegans eat boring foods. They provide a great range from pasties to cakes that often surpass their non-vegan counterparts.

So what part of the business is Happy Daisy most proud about? Here is what they had to say:
"The thing we are most proud of is the reviews we are getting from customers who have tried our food.  Both vegans and non-vegans seem to be really impressed with the quality, flavours, textures and choice of food we offer."
Happy Daisy currently sells their food online and deliver to an area of 5 miles around small town Quedgeley. When possible they also set up stalls at local fairs giving more people to try their delights, but the big dream is to be able to open their own 100% vegan cafe!

If you live in the Gloucester area you can buy their food here.

Gloucester Food Festival 2017

Gloucester Food Festival is the event of the summer in Gloucester so it was only right that it rained during my visit!

For three days at the end of July, Gloucester Quays transforms the Docks into a feast of wonderful food and handmade items. From vegan chocolate cake (I highly recommend!) to fudge and cheese. There is something for everyone.

I visited on the first day of the festival (Friday) with one of my best friends Kirstie (a budding blogger and handmade creator). This was her first time visiting the Food Festival and I just loved showing her around.

Every year the festival just gets better and better, with this year being the first that absolutely anyone can watch the demonstrations! The festival is completely free and is set in the beautiful Historic Docks. Not only is there the chance to try the fantastic food but there is a great range of alcoholic beverages available also!

Live music is also being played throughout the weekend, while we were there a lovely band were playing some delightful acoustic covers.

If you get the chance to visit Gloucester Quays for any of the brilliant markets and festivals they host, do it! And whats better you can also treat yourself to some discount designer shopping while you are at it!
