underground festival

I wasn't originally gonna go to underground this year but am I glad I did!!!
For those of you who don't know what I am on about, underground festival is a free gig with loads of local bands playing.
This year I met a couple of new friends who are pretty awesome lol!!!
So we mainly hung around the LAB Records stage and watched Canary Swing, Katie Sky, and Anavae!!!
Canary Swing a couple of songs from their ep which is available on iTunes!!! But they also sung when there is milkshake on the table which I absolutely love!!!
Katie Sky's music was very chill with everyone sat on the floor just relaxing which I really liked! And I have to say I am now a fan of hers!!!
So finally it was Anavae's turn. They have come all the way from London and rocked the place!!! I have been following them for about a year and this was the first time I had seen them live.
Some time for you to see what it was all about. It is photo time!!!

the past

It has been around a year since me and my best friend stopped talking or should I say she stopped talking to  me. I am not entirely sure why we stopped talking we just did. This is something that really makes me sad. You may be wondering why I am writing about this now so I shall tell you. I saw her at work today. she was with her sister and she smiled and said 'hi' but it felt like she really was annoyed that she had seen me. because of that I felt like crying. I had to stop what i was doing for a moment to realise that we will never be friends again. I guess I should have realised when she ignored my Facebook messages or never got back to me when i tried to arrange to meet up. I really tried but at the end of the day at least I have finally acknowledged that the friendship is over.
If the person this is about is reading this I want you to know that I do miss you but never mind just like Noah and the Whale says life goes on.

American Candy

So last week I order some american candy and it arrived at the start of the week!!!
So far I have tried the candy corns which taste weird like fruity fudge, the oh Henry! bar which was just lush and the nerds!!!

I have a slight obsession with american sweets because they are just so different than British sweets. I was a bit disappointed that i didn't receive any salt water taffy (it was a mystery box so I had no choice in the sweet selection) so if any of you lovely Americans would like to send me some I would be very accepting of it!!!

Lemonade Mouth

So I bought Lemonade Mouth on DVD after recently reading the book and I have to say that I was pretty pleased with it. OK yes some things were slightly different but that is what you expect from a film these days!!! Overall I think it stayed pretty close to the books story line.
I have to say that Wen wasn't how I imagined him but then again i am not sure how I really imagined him if I am completely honest.
So just in case you haven't read the book or watched the film (which you really should and in that order) here is the basic story line: five kids from completely different backgrounds with completely different story lines meet at a detention in the music room and completely unintentionally create some music. because they are so good together they decide to form a band.
I loved it and I really think you will too!!!
as normal here are the amazon links for the book and DVD!!!!

As always thank you for reading and supporting me and please follow me if you love me enough!!!!

People These Days!!!

So I was walking home from getting some courgettes from Aldi when some guy driving his car quite literally pressed his nose up against the car window and stared at me, what haven't you ever seen someone walking before like seriously!!! I always seem to get this, people staring at me like they have never seen a person running or walking before. It is seriously annoying and surely I can't be the only one this seems to happen to!!!

Human Rights

In citizenship at the moment we have been focusing on human rights and it is shocking to discover how many countries disregard human rights. I am currently doing a project on case studies that show examples of where human rights have been denied, protected and enjoyed. When researching for the human rights denied part I was shocked to see how much human rights are disregarded. I mostly think of human rights being disregarded in LEDC's such as Burma but to discover developed countries such as Russia are massive culprits of ignoring human rights. One big case study would be the imprisonment of punk rock band Pussy Riot, they were not only prevented from exercising their right to freedom of speech (article 19 UDHR) but were then subject to an incredibly unfair trial (article 10 UDHR). Another human right that Russia has ignored in legislation is the right to be free to be who you are by outlawing the freedom to acknowledge yourself as being gay (article 2 UDHR) and this was made even more shocking when Russian athlete

Yelena Isinbayeva defended the laws saying “If we allow to promote and do all this stuff on the street, we are afraid about our nation because we consider ourselves like normal, standard people...We just live with boys with woman, woman with boys. Everything must be fine. It comes from history. We never had any problems, these problems in Russia, and we don’t want to have any in the future.” at the athletic world championships in Moscow.

This is wrong for a supposedly developed country, they should be leading the rest of the world by example by promoting human rights not disregarding them and treating your citizens like they are nothing. the definition of human rights is: Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible.
Every one is entitled to them. If you are human you should be treated like one. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is called universal because that is what it should be Universal and Universal means everybody and everything.
